JavaPlaphoons (v: 22 can run on Linux and Mac).

Plaphoons is a communication tool for people physically handicapped, for example people with cerebral palsy. It can also serve for learning reading and writing and helping to control the computer for these people. Also can help other people with communication difficulties as persons with autism spectrum disorders (ASD), people with Down syndrome, etc.

It may be useful for people physically handicapped and / or visual.

It can use speech synthesizers with SAPI 5.1 interface (as Loquendo), sapi 4.0 (as MSAgent), UPCTV (for catalan ans spanish), AhoTTS (Euskera).

There are different options of reading: the contents of the clipboard, the selected text, key from the keyboard, word, sentence. Can help in learning to read and write to people with dyslexia.

This software can be usful not only in the field Special needs Este:

• If we need the computer reads any text, web page, etc.

• If we have copied a text and we want to check if we have done it correctly this computer program can help us in this kind of task.
